Meals provided are listed by each day - Breakfast (B) Lunch (L) Dinner (D)

Day 1: Vientiane – Phou Khao Khouay (L,D)

Our adventure begins with a short transfer to the surreal and wonderfully quirky Buddha Park, where giant Hindu and Buddhist sculptures rise from the banks of the Mekong in a fantastical display of mythology and devotion. After time to wander among the statues, we hop on our bikes and leave the city behind.

Quiet backroads soon lead us into the countryside, passing small farming communities and rice paddies before the road begins to climb gently into the forested hills of Phou Khao Khouay National Park. The air becomes cooler and the scenery increasingly wild as we ride deeper into one of Laos' most beautiful protected areas.

A well-earned lunch awaits at our jungle resort, nestled amongst the trees. The afternoon is yours to relax by the pool, take a stroll through the surrounding forest, or simply sit back and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere. As darkness falls, the sounds of the jungle come alive, and the stars shine brightly overhead.

Overnight: Jungle Resort

Day 2: Phou Khao Khouay – Ban Nahin (B, L)

After a leisurely breakfast, we transfer east towards the dramatic limestone landscapes of Khammouane Province. Arriving in the small village of Vieng Kham, we begin today's ride through a spectacular karst landscape unlike anywhere else in Laos.

Quiet roads wind through remote villages and fertile valleys, with towering limestone cliffs rising from the rice fields on all sides. Our destination is the remarkable Rock Point, where jagged limestone pinnacles erupt from the earth like a stone forest.

Overnight: Limestone Mountain View  Resort

Day 3 – Konglor Cave Adventure  (B,L,D)

Today’s ride continues through some of the most spectacular karst landscapes in Laos as you cycle toward the legendary Kong Lor Cave. Upon arrival, swap the road for an underground adventure as electric bikes carry you through sections of the enormous cave system, where cathedral-like chambers disappear into darkness and underground rivers echo beneath the limestone.

Emerging back into daylight, continue to the welcoming Natane Resort. As evening settles over the valley, gather around the campfire to share stories beneath the stars while village life quietly unfolds nearby.

Cycling Distance: 45 km

Overnight: Cosy Resort Chalet

Day 4 – Mountain Roads to Nakai (B, L, D)

This morning’s ride follows winding rural roads through remote villages and forested valleys toward Nakai. The terrain becomes more challenging throughout the day, culminating in a rewarding final climb into the hills — a tough but scenic ascent for those wanting the challenge, with vehicle support available for anyone preferring to skip the steepest section.

After reaching Nakai, continue to Bualapha, where the evening is spent resting in one of Laos’ most untouched regions.

Cycling Distance: 82 km

Day 5: Nakai – Bualapha (B, L)

After breakfast, we transfer to Mahaxay Junction and begin today's ride through a completely different side of Laos.

Leaving the mountains behind, we cycle south through broad, fertile valleys and one of the country's most productive agricultural regions. The terrain is predominantly flat, making for an enjoyable and relaxed day in the saddle. Along the way we pass rice paddies, tobacco farms, grazing buffalo and small villages where traditional rural life continues much as it has for generations.

There are plenty of opportunities to stop for photographs and meet the friendly local people, and the wide-open landscapes offer a striking contrast to the dramatic karst scenery of previous days.

By late afternoon, we arrive in the sleepy town of Bualapha, the gateway to the spectacular Hin Nam No National Park and tomorrow's adventure into one of Southeast Asia's greatest cave systems.

Cycling: 85 km
Overnight: Local guesthouse in Bualapha.

Day 6: Exploring the Xe Bang Fai River Cave (B, L)

Today is dedicated to one of the true highlights of the journey and one of the least-visited natural wonders in Southeast Asia.

After breakfast, we travel to the beautiful Xieng Lue Waterfall, where cool waters cascade through the forest into a crystal-clear pool. There is time for a refreshing swim before continuing deeper into the limestone wilderness.

Next comes the remarkable Xe Bang Fai River Cave. This enormous cavern contains one of Southeast Asia's largest underground rivers and remains largely untouched by tourism. Accompanied by local guides, we board our kayaks and paddle into the darkness, exploring vast chambers, extraordinary rock formations and a hidden subterranean world that few travellers ever experience.

Emerging from the cave, we continue by longtail boat upstream along the Xe Bang Fai River to the remote village of Nong Ping. Here we enjoy a home-cooked lunch and have time to meet local families and learn more about life in this isolated corner of Laos.

In the afternoon, we reunite with our bicycles and enjoy a gentle ride back to Bualapha through limestone landscapes, rice fields and quiet villages, soaking up the beauty of this remarkable region one final time.

Today's ride is largely downhill, winding through spectacular limestone mountains, dense forests and peaceful rural communities. The road is wonderfully quiet, and the scenery becomes increasingly dramatic as we approach our destination.

After a short buggy ride and climb through the forest, we enter a breathtaking underground world filled with enormous chambers and extraordinary limestone formations that seem almost too perfect to be real.

Later, we head to the aptly named Dark Cave for an altogether different adventure. Equipped with helmets and headlamps, we venture deep into the cave before enjoying an action-packed afternoon of zip-lining, kayaking, swimming and a famous mud bath deep inside the cavern.

It's a day filled with adventure and a fitting exploration of one of the world's great cave regions.

Overnight: Hotel in Phong Nha.

Day 9: Phong Nha – Cam Lo – Khe Sanh (B, L)

After a short transfer, we rejoin the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail and begin riding through one of Vietnam's most historically significant regions.

We pedal across the former Demilitarised Zone and stop at Truong Son Cemetery, the final resting place of thousands of North Vietnamese soldiers who lost their lives along the Ho Chi Minh Trail.

From Cam Lo, we continue towards Khe Sanh, the site of one of the most famous battles of the Vietnam War. This remote mountain town still bears the marks of its extraordinary history.
